Betty  Jo  Cole

Betty Jo Cole, 80, of Alma, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 in a local hospital. She was a homemaker and retired receptionist for Dr. Jean Medlock in Alma, and a charter member of Alma Heights Missionary Baptist Church. Betty was a faithful wife of 61 years, a mother and nana, a community volunteer, a lifelong children’s Sunday School Teacher, the current president of Crawford County EHC, a member of the Crawford County Fair Board and a friend of the Library. She was born February 3, 1938 in Mulberry, Arkansas to the late Gervis C. and Louise (Moore) Fisher.
Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Ocker Chapel of Alma with interment in New Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
Survivors include her husband, Billy Don Cole of the home; four daughters, Rhonda Thomas and husband Billy of Alma, Suzy Ferguson and husband David of Alma, Ann Coody and husband Steve of Alma and Janet Carter and husband John of Texarkana, AR; one son, Don Cole and wife Nancy of Roland, AR; two sisters, Dorothy Yeager of Mulberry and Paula Dozer and husband Duncan of Charleston; two brothers, C. G. Fisher and wife Phyllis of Mulberry and Barry Fisher and wife Beverly of Panama, OK; 14 grandchildren, Christina, Joshua and Matthew Cole, LeeAnn and Marc Miranda, Andrew Thomas and wife Mona, John Thomas and wife Cindy, Kristin Wagner and husband Steven, Katelyn Ferguson, Kelby Taylor and husband Paxton, Ryan Coody, Brianna Shackleford and husband Bradley and Drake Carter and wife Amber and Mattison Carter; 5 great grandchildren, Genevieve Miranda, Cara Thomas, Jacob Thomas, Maximus Shackleford and Kayson Carter.
Pallbearers will be Billy Thomas, David Ferguson, Steve Coody, John Carter, Aaron Jones and Jason Taylor.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ron Southall and Bobby Jones.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alma Heights Children’s Ministries, P.O. Box 546, Alma, AR 72921 or the EHC of Crawford County Extension Office, 105 Pointer Trail West, Van Buren, AR 72956.
