Obituary for Darrell Wayne Newton

Darrell Wayne  Newton
Darrell Wayne Newton, 68 of Van Buren passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018 in Conway, Arkansas. He was retired from the Crawford County Highway Department as a heavy equipment operator and a bus driver for the Van Buren School District, a local farmer and a welder by trade. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and past commander DAV Chapter #42 in Alma. He was preceded in death by his parents, Darrell and Barbara (Crane) Newton.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

He is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Hoover and husband, Chris of Greenbier; one sister, Donna Lovett of Kibler; three brothers, Ricky, Michael and Wade Newton all of Van Buren; two grandchildren, Ashton Cannon and Macie Hoover of Van Buren; one great grandchild, Charli Jo Cannon.

The family will visit with relatives and friends Monday, July 2, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Ocker Funeral Home 700 Jefferson Street Van Buren.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Newton, Sven Weigh, Justin Lovett, Ashton Cannon and Chris Hoover.

Memorial contributions may be made to the DAV at 2600 Midland Boulevard, Fort Smith, Arkansas.
