Obituary for Willa Mae Miner (Bennett)

Willa Mae  Miner (Bennett)
Willa Mae Miner, 93, of Mulberry, Arkansas passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at her home. She was born December 19, 1924 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to the late Henry Frank and Lula Etta (Hill)Bennett. Willa married Bob Miner May 16, 1946. After living in several states with oil field jobs, Bob and Willa settled in Mulberry in 1958. She was a strong Christian and faithful member of Mulberry First Baptist Church for close to 60 years. She had a strong passion for supporting missions. Willa was strongly patriotic and always supported men and women in uniform. She always flew a flag or had one in her house. Willa was quick to laugh and always had a twinkle in her eye. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bobby J. Miner; 4 brothers, Henry Bennett, Bob Bennett, J.D. Bennett and Frank (Junior) Bennett and 4 sisters, Maudie Giles, Thelma Gordon, Gladys Swinhart and Betty White.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at Mulberry First Baptist Church with interment at New Cemetery of Mulberry under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Jana Westcamp and husband Bill of Mulberry, AR and Dana Beam and husband Chris of Alma, AR; 1 son, Gary J. Miner and wife Kaye of Searcy, AR; 5 grandchildren, Stacy Bailey, Holly Craig, Laura Tidwell, Jason Miner and Mark Beam; 5 great-grandchildren, Emme Bailey, Mallory Craig, William Bailey, Jonas Tidwell and Cooper Miner; 1 brother, Harry Bennett of Tulsa, OK, 3 sisters-in-laws, Sally Bennett of Norman, OK, Betty Brooks of Holdenville, OK and Anita Miner of Barling, AR and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Bill Giles, Johnny Gordon, Harold Gordon, Phillip Bennett, Brad Bennett, Hal Swinhart, Todd White, Jimmy Grimes, Greg Miner, Pat Miner and Johnny Craig Miner.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Fred Moon, John Moody, Tony Almond, Glen Evans, Nick House, Jeff Marvin, David Marvin, John Hunter and Jimmy Moore.

The family will visit with friends from 12:30 until 1:30 PM, Wednesday, April 4, 2018, prior to the service at Mulberry First Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the mission fund at First Baptist Church, 453 Church Avenue, Mulberry, AR 72947
