Connie Sue Young, 64, formerly of Decatur, Illinois went to be with her lord and savior Jesus Christ as her family was by her side in Fort Smith, AR on March 3, 2018. She was born in Decatur, IL to Victor and Lucille (Russell) Lanzotti on February 19, 1954. She was a retired elementary school teacher from Bent School in District 87. Connie and her husband moved to Fort Smith to be with their sons, while in Fort Smith they attended Grace Community Church.
Connie was the kind of person who impacted everyone around her. She never met a stranger, and was eager to help others. She was family centered, and loved deeply. She was adored by her students as a teacher and even more so by her children and grandchildren. In retirement, she dedicated her life to caring for her parents; being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Connie is survived by her husband Rennie; two sons, Garrett Young and Evan Young and his wife Natalie and three grandchildren, Jace, Elyse and Connor Young, all of Fort Smith; her parents, Victor and Lucille Lanzotti of Decatur, IL; two brothers, Victor Lanzotti and his wife Joyce Lanzotti, of Cape Girardeau, MO and Daniel Lanzotti and Lisa Lanzotti of Springfield, IL.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00AM, Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Decatur, IL. The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to the service. The family has asked for donations to be made, in lieu of flowers, to the American Brain Tumor Association at www.abta.org
