Jim Alex Workman, 85, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born on October 23, 1932 in Glenwood, Arkansas. He was retired from the U.S. Army and served in the Korean Conflict and did two duties in Vietnam. After retiring from the service he was in hotel management, owned Jim Workman Real Estate and was a published author of western novels. He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce Workman.

Funeral services will be 12:00PM, Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home in Fort Smith with burial with full military honors in the U.S. National Cemetery.

He is survived by three daughters, Stephanie Workman of Fort Smith, AR, Marlene Workman of Jonesboro, AR and Victoria Black of Fort Smith, AR; two sons, Jay Workman of Broken Arrow, OK and Jim Workman of Bonham, TX; one brother, Wayne Workman of KY; two sisters, Louize Workman of CO and Hattie Snyder of Lubbock, TX and one grandson.

The family will visit with friends from 4-6PM on Monday, January 15 th at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith, AR.
