Condolence From: John Furness
Condolence: To the Lowrey Family:
Please accept my deepest sympathy for the loss of Doug, AKA, LuLu Lowrey. Doug and I were in the same graduating class at Northside High School. He was an awesome athlete and was held in highest regards by his classmates and teachers. I always enjoyed my visit with LuLu at high school reunions or retirement receptions. As a matter of fact, our paths crossed again a few weeks ago at one of our classmates retirement reception on December 8, 2017. My thoughts and prayers are with LuLu's family at this time of sorrow.
Sincerely,
Johnny Furness

Condolence: I've known "LULU" for over 50 years. He and some of my other colorfully named friends~~~Kenny "BOOGER" Ashwill,Ricky "STRAWBERRY" Davis, and others~~~ used to hang out in our teems at all the local Haunts in Ft Smith: Dairy Grand, The "Y", Sandy's, Beverly's." I was so proud of his Athletic prowess at College, in the Pros, and as a Power Lifting Champ. I was also proud of his business success, but MOST proud of his building a wonderful marital relationship and raising and nurturing a great family.
My thoughts are with all his family and his many friends during this time of ineffable loss.

Condolence: I am going to really miss Doug. I have so many good memories of playing softball with him and football against him. What a great competitor! I had hoped I could play softball again with him in the senior league. Lulu and his family will be in my prayers.

Condolence: I met Doug 26 years ago at Harvest Time. My first impression about Doug, was I dont want to make that guy mad and if I did I was sure I could atleast out run him. However, getting to know Doug was fun. He always had a smile on his face and cutting up. He wasnt shy about being a Christian and shared it quite easily.

We were part of an accountablity group for several years. Doug, myself, Greg Hale, Bill Flaspohlar and Buster Brown. We had some great times sharing our faults, praying and uplifting one another. Doug was very open about things he was dealing with. We played a lot of softball together. Wow, could he talk smack to the opposing teams. We also played golf together. One particular round was myself and Greg played against Doug and Mike Moore. We were taking them to school, until, out of knee high grass, Doug took a gorilla swing at the ball to get it out of the hay....the ball went in the hole. Greg and I were stunned and didnt recover from that. Doug strolled to the green and glotted like he meant to knock it in the hole. Doug, thanks for all the laughs and being a friend!
