Kay Velta Shepard, 73, of Mountainburg, Arkansas passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 in a local hospital. She was a retired cook for the Mountainburg Public Schools and of the Assembly of God Faith. She was born April 3, 1944 in Fort Smith, AR to the late Merle and Katie (Dollard) Self. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry Shepard and a grandson, Charles DeWayne Shepard.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 5, 2018 at Mountainburg Assembly of God Church with interment in Locke Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
Survivors include three sons, Henry Earl Shepard and wife Judy, Timothy Michael Shepard, Sr. and wife Brenda and Mark Anthony Shepard, Sr. and wife Tammy all of Mountainburg, AR; one sister, Sheila Perryman of Rudy; one brother, Donnie Self of Mountainburg; 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Timothy Michael Shepard, Jr., Tony Shepard, Joshua Shepard, Aaron Dickson, J. J. Jefferson, Brayden Shepard, Haiden Crain and Shaun Verkuilen.
The family will visit with friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening, January 4, 2018 at Ocker Funeral Home of Alma, 917 Hwy. 64 East, Alma, AR
