Obituary for Anna Mae Ellison-Wilson (McDaniel)


Heaven is rejoicing. An angel has gone home. Anna Mae Wilson, 84, of Alma, Arkansas passed away peacefully with her family on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 in her home. She married Harley Ellison in 1950 in Monroe, MI. From this marriage was born 4 children. She later married Cletus Wilson. Anna Mae moved at an early age with her family to Monroe, MI from Tazewell, TN. She attended Lincoln School in Monroe. As a teenager she worked at the Triangle Lunch. She was employed at Moore’s Restaurant for many years. She owned and operated Ellison’s Restaurant in Monroe. She also worked at the Fairview County home and The Golden Drumstick Restaurant. While living in Michigan she was a member of North Monroe Street Church of God. In the early 1980’s her marriage to Cletus Wilson brought her to the Fort Smith, AR area where she was employed by Sparks Hospital. Anna was also a personal caregiver to several families in the area. One of those families was the Wortley family whom she came to love dearly as family. She later settled in Alma, AR. For over 30 years she attended the Mulberry Assembly of God Church.
Anna Mae is survived by her four children, Brenda Burns and husband Richard of Powder Springs, GA, Don Ellison and wife Bonnie, Diane Brasher and husband Danny and Sharon Raymer all of Alma, AR; 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Her special family, Mark and Patty Wortley and their 4 children of Louisville, KY and her 4 legged fur baby, Ella.
Anna Mae joins her family in Heaven, parents, Dewey and Nellie McDaniel, Sister, Dorothy Biniac, Brother Claude (Bud) McDaniel and her grandson, Jason Burns who will be first to welcome her Home.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Ocker Chapel of Alma with interment in Dyer Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma. Reverend Robbie Willis of Mulberry Assembly of God will officiate services.
Pallbearers will be Steve Burns, Rick, Jared and Travis Ellison, Joseph Dixon, Daryn Raymer, Zack Brasher and Xander Wortley.
The family will visit with friends from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday evening, December 8, 2017 at Ocker Funeral Home of Alma, 917 Hwy. 64 East, Alma, AR.
