Obituary for Peggy Ann Walters (McKee)

Peggy Ann  Walters (McKee)
Peggy Ann Walters, 93, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, October 04, 2017 in her home. She was born on November 19, 1923 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to William Floyd and Margaret McKee. Peggy was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church where she was in the Women’s Bible Study Group. She retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone after 40 years where she started as a switchboard operator and was a clerk at retirement. She was a master card player and enjoyed her card playing group and was both a great artist and hobby seamstress. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Walters, Sr. and two children, Margaret Lee Hibbs and David McKee Walters.
Funeral services will be 10:00AM, Saturday, October 7, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Fort Smith with burial to follow in Roselawn Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith, AR.
She is survived by her son, James A. Walters, Jr. and his wife Charlotta of Fort Smith, AR; seven grandchildren, Phillip Walters and his wife Mary of Van Buren, AR, Angela O’Neal and her husband Mark of Alma, AR, Christopher Hibbs and his wife Catrina of Fort Smith, AR, Jason Walters and his wife Erica of Mountainburg, AR; Carrie Medlyn and her husband Jimmy and Callie Hunter and her husband Bret both of Fort Smith and Andy Walters and his wife Cynthia of Springdale, AR; two nephew’s, Ralph Caperton, Jr. of Texas and Terry Caperton of Van Buren, AR and twelve great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 5-7PM on Friday, October 6, 2017 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home in Fort Smith, AR.
Memorials may be made to the Sebastian County Humane Society 3800 Kelley Highway, Fort Smith, Arkansas 72904.
